How to Measure Your Foot
Accurate measurements help ensure a comfortable, precise fit – especially for handmade leather shoes crafted with attention to detail. This simple shoe care guide step supports both fit and long-term comfort.
Preparation
- Place your foot on a sheet of paper on a flat surface
- Stand naturally with your weight evenly distributed
- Hold a pencil vertically and trace the outline of your foot
Foot length
- Mark two points: the tip of the big toe and the center of the heel
- Draw a straight line between them and measure the distance
Ball girth (widest part)
- Wrap a measuring tape around the widest part of the foot (where the toes begin)
- Keep the tape snug but not tight, following the natural contour
Instep girth
- Measure around the upper part of the foot at the instep (over the arch)
- Ensure the tape sits evenly without twisting
Diagonal instep
- Place the tape under the heel
- Wrap it diagonally over the instep toward the front of the ankle
- Record the measurement for a more precise fit reference
For boots or high styles
- Measure ankle girth approximately 10–12 cm above the heel
- Continue measuring every 5 cm upward along the leg
- Identify and record the widest part of the calf, along with its height
Taking a few moments to measure carefully helps ensure a more accurate fit and enhances the overall wearing experience.
👉 Tip: we recommend measuring your feet in the evening – this is when they are at their natural size, helping you achieve a more accurate fit.
